Catalyst Community AV Guide

This guide aims to cover all your AV questions regarding the different meeting rooms both within the catalyst office and the community space.

We encourage you to take 20 minutes to review this guide and make yourself an expert on how to best connect your device to the different AV systems.

Three things to ask yourself before starting

Check the device is connected to “Catalyst Meet” Wifi to connect use the password catalystinc

Have you made sure the “Power on” icon on the panel device by the front of the room has been switched on

What device /operating system you are using? Are you to presenting wirelessly or connected via HDMI?

Apple Device Instructions

  • For the Design Lab

    For Apple Wireless Connection

    • – Select Design Lab. from your wireless network list or via the control centre icon at top of screen, select screen mirroring and then Design Lab.
    • – Input the Airplay Password (4-digit pin) displayed on the TV.
    • – To disconnect, from the top tool bar, select screen mirroring, click on the highlighted active connection ‘Design Lab.’ This will automatically disconnect you.

     

    For Apple Wired Connection

    • – For in person presentations only: connect the USB-C/HDMI cable provided to your device. The image will display on the screen.
    • – For a hybrid meeting, where people will be joining remotely, connect the USB-C cable.
    • – To connect to the room’s microphone and speakers to “USB Audio Codec”. This can be done via the device settings on your video conferencing application. To connect to the room’s camera, please connect to the Aver DL30 camera in the video settings of the video conferencing application.
    • – To project your screen with separate images:
    • – Your Mac will automatically recognise the second monitor. Click the “Display” icon on the Apple toolbar at the top of the screen and click “Open Display Preferences” to adjust the display settings, screen 1 should be the Mac, screen 2 should be the larger projector and screen 3 should be the smaller projector.
    • – To stop displaying, disconnect the USB-C/HDMI cable.
  • Seminar Room 1

    For Apple Wireless Connection

    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 2 via the remote control.
    • – Select Catalyst Unit 6 from your wireless network list or via the control centre icon at top of screen, select screen mirroring and then Catalyst Unit 6.
    • – Input the Airplay Password (4-digit pin) displayed on the TV.
    • – To disconnect, from the top tool bar, select screen mirroring, click on the highlighted active connection ‘Seminar 1’. This will automatically disconnect you.

     

    For Apple Wired Connection

    A cable adaptor will be required, please see a member of the Community team at the front desk if needed

    • – Connect the HDMI cable provided your device.
    • – For a Hybrid meeting, where people are joining remotely connect the USB cable for “the Owl” to your device.
    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 1 via the remote control.
    • – Your screen will be displayed on the projector.
    • – To stop displaying, disconnect the HDMI cable
  • Seminar Room 2

    For Apple Wireless Connection

    • – Select ‘Seminar room 2’ from your wireless network list or via the control centre icon at top of screen, select screen mirroring and then ‘Seminar room 2’.
    • – Input the Airplay Password (4-digit pin) displayed on the projector.
    • – To disconnect, from the top tool bar, select screen mirroring, click on the highlighted active connection ‘Seminar Room 2’. This will automatically disconnect you.

     

    For Apple Wired Connection

    • – For in person presentations only -connect the USB-C/HDMI cable provided to your device. The image will display on the screen.
    • – For a hybrid meeting, where people will be joining remotely, connect the USB-C cable.

    • – Input the AirPlay Password (4-digit pin) displayed on the TV.
    • – To disconnect, from the top tool bar, select screen mirroring, click on the highlighted active connection ‘Meeting Room 3’. This will automatically disconnect you.\

     

    For Apple Wired Connection

    A cable adaptor will be required, please see a member of the Community team at the front desk if needed

    • – Connect the HDMI cable provided your device.
    • – For a Hybrid meeting, where people are joining remotely connect the USB cable for “the Owl” to your device.
    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 3 via the remote control.
    • – Your screen will be displayed on the projector.
    • – To stop displaying, disconnect the HDMI cable.
  • Meeting Room 4

    For Apple Wireless Connection

    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 1 via the remote control.
    • – Select Meeting Room 4 from your wireless network list or via the control centre icon at top of screen, select screen mirroring and then Meeting Room 4.
    • – Input the Airplay Password (4-digit pin) displayed on the TV.
    • – To disconnect, from the top tool bar, select screen mirroring, click on the highlighted active connection ‘Meeting Room 4’. This will automatically disconnect you.

Windows Device Instructions

  • For the Design Lab

    For Windows Device Wireless Connection

    • – The “Mersive Solstice” application is required. To download please follow the steps below. Please ignore this step where the device already has this application downloaded:
    • – Open the browser on your device and insert “192.168.109.11 “into the address bar
    • – Press enter to download Mersive Solstice
    • – Follow on screen instructions to select “Get the App”
    • – Open the Mersive Solstice app, which prompts you to insert a 4-digit code displayed on the projector screen.
    • – Enter the 4-digit code to connect.
    • – To present, select and open your file and share your device screen.
    • – To stop sharing your screen, select Stop Sharing.
    • – To disconnect, select Disconnect from the top right corner.

     

    For Windows Device Wired Connection

    A cable adaptor will be required, please see a member of the Community team at the front desk if needed

    • – For in person presentations only -connect the USB-C/HDMI cable provided to your device. The image will display on the screen.
    • – For a hybrid meeting, where people will be joining remotely, connect the USB-C cable.
    • – To connect to the room’s microphone and speakers to “USB Audio Codec”. This can be done via the device settings on your video conferencing application. To connect to the room’s camera, please connect to the Aver camera in the video settings of the video conferencing application.
    • – To project your screen with separate images:
    • – Select Start > Settings > System > Display. Your PC should automatically detect the projectors and show your desktop. If you don’t see the projectors, select Detect.
    • – In the Multiple displays section, select extend screens.
    • – Once you’ve selected what you see on your displays, select Keep changes.
    • – Minimise the tab you wish to show and drag it to the right-hand side of your laptop screen, the image will then appear on the large projector screen. To have the tab appear on the smaller projector, minimise it again and drag to the right-hand corner of the large projector.
    • – To stop displaying, disconnect the USB-C/HDMI cable
  • Seminar Room 1

    For Windows Device Wireless Connection

    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 2 via the remote control.
    • – The “Mersive Solstice” application is required. To download please follow the steps below. Please ignore this step where the device already has this application downloaded:
    • – Open the browser on your device and insert “192.168.109.16 “into the address bar
    • – Press enter to download Mersive Solstice
    • – Follow on screen instructions to select “Get the App”
    • – Open the Mersive Solstice app, which prompts you to insert a 4-digit code displayed on the TV screen.
    • – Enter the 4-digit code to connect.
    • – To present, select and open your file and share your device screen.
    • – To stop sharing your screen, select Stop Sharing.
    • – To disconnect, select Disconnect from the top right corner.

     

    For Windows Device Wired Connection

    • – Connect the HDMI cable provided to your device.
    • – For a Hybrid meeting, where people are joining remotely connect the USB cable for “the Owl” to your device.
    • – Ensure the TV is on HDMI 1 via the remote control.
    • – Your screen will be projected.
    • – To stop displaying, disconnect the HDMI cable.
  • Seminar Room 2

    For Windows Device Wireless Connection

    • – The “Mersive Solstice” application is required. To download please follow the steps below. Please ignore this step where the device already has this application downloaded:
    • – Open the browser on your device and insert “192.168.109.19 “into the address bar
    • – Press enter to download Mersive Solstice
    • – Follow on screen instructions to select “Get the App”
    • – Open the Mersive Solstice app, which prompts you to insert a 4-digit code displayed on the projector screen.
    • – Enter the 4-digit code to connect.
    • – To present, select and open your file and share your device screen.
    • – To stop sharing your screen, select Stop Sharing.
    • – To disconnect, select Disconnect from the top right corner.

     

    For Windows Device Wired Connection

    • – For in person presentations only -connect the USB-C/HDMI cable provided to your device. The image will display on the screen.
    • – For a Hybrid meeting, where people will be joining remotely, connect the USB-C cable.

    • – To project your screen with separate images:
      • – Select Start > Settings > System > Display. Your PC should automatically detect the projectors and show your desktop. If you don’t see the projectors, select Detect.
      • – In the Multiple displays section, select extend screens.
      • – Once you’ve selected what you see on your displays, select Keep changes.
      • – Minimise the tab you wish to show and drag it to the right-hand side of your laptop screen, the image will then appear on the large projector screen. To have the tab appear on the smaller projector, minimise it again and drag to the right-hand corner of the large projector.

    • – Enter the 4-digit code to connect.
    • – To present, select and open your file and share your device screen.
    • – To stop sharing your screen, select Stop Sharing.
    • – To disconnect, select Disconnect from the top right corner.

     

    For Windows Device Wired Connection

    • – Connect the HDMI cable provided to your device.
