Catalyst is Northern Ireland's most exciting employer. With a strong purpose of creating world class innovation communities in Northern Ireland, this is a workplace brimming with ambition to create social, cultural and economic advantage.
We approach everything with a straightforward, open and honest attitude. Every new challenge requires a brave, smart, and flexible way of thinking and we put integrity at the heart of every decision. Our strong moral code intuitively understands what doing the right thing means in every situation.
We love what we do. We are committed to our members and partners, ready to go above and beyond for the future we are building together. This is the ‘Catalyst Way’. We sharpen our senses, take calculated risks together and work hard for a brighter future.
Be ambitious and dare to be different. We are the catalyst that connects entrepreneurs and businesses to an eco-system and community that transforms ideas and innovation into real-world reality with global impact.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
Diversity and inclusion aren’t boxes to tick on a CSR list. At Catalyst, they’re part of our DNA, lived, breathed, seen, and heard across our community, projects, and co-working spaces.
We not only want to foster and empower a culture of innovation, but also an environment where people can be their true, authentic self and thrive, and we’re proud to be recognised by the Diversity Charter for achieving Silver status, as we progress to Gold. We are also a member of Stonewall and a dedicated Diversity Champion.
As an equal opportunity employer, we recruit based solely on the individual’s ability to perform the role, and that’s allowed us to create an inclusive workplace which celebrates the diversity of our teams and community.
‘We are proud to be recognised by the Diversity Charter and it stands as a testament to our workplace philosophy where diversity is acknowledged and celebrated as a fundamental component of our culture.
In 2022, we launched our 5-year strategy with a vision to create ‘opportunity for all from world-leading innovation.
To do this we must make the worlds of entrepreneurship and innovation more inclusive and accessible, especially to those who are furthest from this domain and the benefit felt from it.’
Steve Orr, CEO Catalyst
HR Officer
As an HR Officer at Catalyst, my responsibilities include delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation. My role focuses on managing end-to-end recruitment, fostering robust employee relations, driving performance management initiatives, and leading critical HR projects.
I have over 7 years working exclusively on recruitment, I specialised in sourcing and securing top talent aligned with organisational goals and culture. During this period, I developed strong skills in candidate evaluation, strategic sourcing techniques, and employer branding strategies.
I transitioned into broader HR responsibilities. During Covid I used my spare time to work towards my CIPD in People Management. I integrated my recruitment expertise into comprehensive HR frameworks. Over the subsequent years within a prominent public sector organisation, I expanded my role to employee relations, organisational management, and strategic HR initiatives. This evolution allowed me to contribute significantly to the development of effective HR policies and practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a positive work environment.
Passionate about leveraging my dual expertise in recruitment and HR to drive organisational success, I am committed to delivering innovative solutions that optimise talent acquisition strategies, enhance employee engagement, and support sustainable business growth.
