Programme Manager, Entrepreneurship for All

Catalyst is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Programme Manager to join our team.

Entrepreneurship for All is a new experimental pilot programme to explore a scalable model of inclusive entrepreneurship. A co-design with under-represented audiences, the programme aims to increase entrepreneurial activity and success, by improving ambition, knowledge and confidence in entrepreneurship and innovation.  

This programme will embed world-class entrepreneurship education as taught at MIT into a pathway that is accessible to a broader spectrum of participants.

 

Key Information

  • Fixed-term contract ending July 2024 with a possibility for extension.
  • Competitive salary: up to £45,000

The Role

What are we looking for?

As the Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the evolution of this ground-breaking inclusive entrepreneurship programme in collaboration with world renowned international education partners. Your strategic vision, stakeholder management, and passion for driving positive change will be instrumental to the success of this transformative programme.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the program design incorporates best practices and industry standards for promoting inclusivity and diversity.
  • Collaborate with international partners and experts to analyse learning needs and design and develop the content of world-renowned entrepreneurship education for effective delivery at scale to NI entrepreneurs.
  • Identify and recruit subject matter experts, thought leaders, industry professionals and quality facilitators with relevant expertise to support the delivery of the learning content.
  • Produce high level and detailed plans with clear and measurable objectives for the programme, including the co-design, logistics and execution of programme activity.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of inclusive entrepreneurship programmes at Catalyst, ensuring actions are delivered on time, within both scope and budget.
  • Monitor and evaluate the programme’s effectiveness, making data-driven adjustments to continually improve impact and alignment with Catalyst’s strategic goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and advice to participants, ensuring the experiential learning opportunity is tailored to their personal and professional growth as entrepreneurs.
  • Cultivate an environment of inclusivity and equity, ensuring that participants feel valued and empowered to encourage activate participation and knowledge retention.
  • Lead and line manage a small team in delivery of the pilot and related projects intended for a more diverse audience of new entrepreneurs.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with companies within the Catalyst community including tenant companies and Catalyst partners, and any relevant external stakeholder to expand the programme’s reach and impact.
  • Set and manage budget for design and delivery of the programme.
  • Support development of funding applications and relationships for the long-term sustainability of the project.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, evaluations, and impact assessments to key-decision makers, including Executive Team, stakeholders and external funding partners.
  • Management of 3rd party suppliers.
  • Work with other programme managers to leverage synergies between programmes for entrepreneurs.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Brand and Marketing team to ensure the programme is appropriately marketed to reach target audience.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties which fall within the remit of this role.

Essential Criteria

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, including creative design and delivery of initiatives focused on entrepreneurship or diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience of strong relationship building skills, with the ability to represent Catalyst and leverage connections for strategic opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading and managing a small team through change with resilience and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills that foster effective collaboration.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Catalyst.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of being a founder.
  • Lived experience of the product development process.
  • Experience accessing funding and support for bringing an idea to market and/or funding a programme activity.
  • Experience of international networking.

  • Proof of right to work in the UK

Criteria may be enhanced to aid shortlisting. Exceptional candidates who do not meet the criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.

As HR Officer, in a small and busy team, Emma is responsible for providing expert support on daily activities and key HR projects.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Emma obtained a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
