We are hiring a Head of Community to play a central role in our Community in our Titanic Quarter office.

  • Contract – Full time, Permanent
  • Salary up to £60k depending on qualifications/experience
  • Based at the Titanic Quarter office, Belfast (hybrid working arrangement available)
  • Reporting to the Director of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities

The Role

​What are we looking for?

Our tenant businesses are such an important part of Catalyst. We are looking for an individual who will build on a firm foundation of excellent operational service and create a community where on-campus organisations can build on their continued success through trusted relationships, supportive business interventions and valuable partnerships that provide competitive growth to the organisations.​You will be our community champion​who will craft and curate​a​tenant experience that is second-to-none.​

​The Head of Community is a critical role to bring strategic input, direction, and support in helping Catalyst to create that on-campus experience that delivers added value to our tenant companies by being part of an innovation community.

We are looking for someone with bags of personality and an ability to create meaningful relationships and see the bigger picture. Someone who thrives of bringing people together and enjoys the meticulous planning and organisation of the little things that is required to deliver 1st​class events/service.

​This is a creative role with an opportunity to try new things – everything from business events to Health & Well-Being interventions – all the time constantly thinking how we can better the experience. So, agility and drive will be necessary to deliver a holistic experience that meets the community’s diverse needs.​

​Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities, you will be an experienced manager who can lead and motivate a small team but also be part of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the Community team across multiple sites, monitoring performance to drive execution of both individual and team objectives.
  • Direct responsibility for the creation of a community environment and experience; your efforts should ensure that those who work or visit Catalyst feel excited about the space, staff, and community that results in the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Design and deliver community initiatives that maximise networking, introductions, and strategic connections among Catalyst tenant companies.
  • Building and growing strategic relationships with tenants that leverage further opportunities to help achieve their business objectives including identifying and connecting tenants to additional support at Catalyst through Entrepreneurship and Scaling and Open Innovation.
  • Leading regular briefing sessions with the Executive team to maximise any opportunities for community engagement in the wider Catalyst agenda.
  • Produce comprehensive reports that allow all Catalyst departments to improve tenant experience and engagement.
  • Researching emerging trends and recommending new Catalyst offerings to satisfy tenant needs.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities to increase business revenue streams for Catalyst facilities (meeting rooms and gym).
  • Develop and implement enhanced communication channels through in-person and digital solutions for on-campus tenants.
  • To be the principal lead in the onboarding experience for all new tenant companies.
  • Ensure high utilization of the Catalyst App providing excellent operational service, communication and connections for tenants and their employees.
  • ​Manage our co-working space including viewings, sign-up, inductions, and day-to-day interactions with co-working community.
  • ​Lead the community team in managing the meeting and event space – viewings, bookings, set-ups, audio visual, catering, feedback, and account management up-to and including advising final agreed billing to Finance colleagues. This includes out-of hour events.
  • ​Manage our gym facility – viewings, sign-up, inductions, bookings, classes, feedback, and account management up to and including advising final agreed billing to Finance colleagues.
  • ​Manage customer experience and feedback process with current Catalyst tenants: who they are, where they might need our support and why they are members, measured by a continual increase in the NPS score.
  • ​Work closely with estates and facilities colleagues to achieve joint tenant retention and growth targets.
  • ​Create events or live, interactive campaigns to help Catalyst effectively connect with its target audiences in collaboration with the Brand & Marketing team.
  • ​Represent Catalyst and actively promote the benefits of working at a Catalyst campus to external audiences.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent customer services skills: minimum 5 years’ experience in client/customer facing role.
  • Proven success in meeting significant financial revenue goals and/or establishing significant partnerships.
  • A track record of building senior and trusted relationships demonstrated through your professional experience.
  • Strong experience of leading and developing teams.
  • Business operations experience required.
  • Proven experience delivering high value add strategic projects or events.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage a changeable workload.
  • Must be an independent, highly accountable, and driven self-starter.
  • Must possess strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Passion and understanding for tech/entrepreneurial communities
