We are hiring a Generation Innovation Project Co-ordinator to deliver Generation Innovation programmes within schools and FE Colleges throughout Northern Ireland.

The Role

Generation Innovation comprises a suite of programmes and events designed to energise the imaginations and aspirations of local young people by increasing their awareness of future careers in tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship. As a Project Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for delivering workshops and facilitating group activities to students in schools and FE Colleges, aged 16-18 years old. You will work closely with the Generation Innovation Programme Manager and provide support on any other activities needed to deliver the programme including the Work Experience Programme. The role will require a large amount of travel (claiming for fuel is permitted).

Generation Innovation aims to inform, upskill and empower the young people of this generation to thrive as the next leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs of the future.

The perfect candidate for this position should be passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential; previous experience in programme design and delivery will be essential to create high-energy, engaging and impactful events and initiatives for young people.

With an opportunity to work with some of NI’s most innovative companies and a range of education partners proven skills in communication, organisation and diverse stakeholder management are required.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the organisation and delivery of an engaging, meaningful, and innovative work experience programme for 600 students aged 17-18 years old.
  • Facilitate high-energy and innovative programmes and workshops within schools and FE Colleges to develop key relationships, promote Generation Innovation and inspire young people with the opportunities available to them.
  • Develop engaging workshops, exercises, and resources to support young people in innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • To maintain a strong working relationship with companies within the Catalyst community including tenant companies and Catalyst partners, and with stakeholders within the education sector such as teachers, school principals, Education authority representatives and others.
  • Ensure feedback and impact data is collated and presented in a timely manner to appropriate audiences.
  • To prepare, attend and deliver visually appealing keynote presentations to a range of audiences as required including young people, careers fairs, ALC’s and stakeholder meetings etc.
  • Set and manage budgets for specific programmes and events
  • Management of 3rd Party Suppliers
  • Ensure data protection and safeguarding processes are up to date and stringently adhered to
  • Prepare and manage communications required to stakeholders and young people in relation to GI programmes
  • Ability to manage Workshop & Impact Day booking system
  • Liaise with companies who are involved in the Work Experience programme
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Brand team to support the promotion of the Work Experience programme
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties which fall within the remit of this role.

Essential Criteria

  • Three years of experience working in a similar role
  • Proven experience in organising successful events and/or programmes for young people (14- to 18-year-olds), including creative design and delivery
  • Working knowledge and experience using the Design Thinking methodology
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to present to large audiences
  • Experience working with and motivating young people
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to organise and plan work to achieve performance targets and deliver to strict deadlines
  • A proven team player
  • Passionate about inspiring young people to innovate

Special Requirments

  • Full current driving license and access to own transport
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • On occasion to work evenings and weekends for events
